Post-Transplant Recovery Process

Day 0 – No Medication on Operation Day

Immediately after the transplant, no medication is given. You’ll go home without any painkillers, antibiotics, or edema reducers. Your body begins healing naturally.

Day 1 – Medication Begins

Starting the next day, your doctor will prescribe medication tailored to your recovery needs. There is no fixed medication plan—our physicians assess your condition and provide a personalized protocol, which may include:
• Antibiotics
• Edema reducers
• Mild painkillers

Physical Care Guidelines

For 7 days, patients must follow these instructions to protect the implanted grafts:
• Avoid lowering your head: Keep your head upright at all times.
• Prevent contact: No scratching, bumping, or touching the transplant area.
• Sleep with elevated pillows: This reduces swelling and protects the hairline.
• No hot water: Use lukewarm water only on the body. Head should be washed as instructed.
• Avoid spicy and salty food: These can cause swelling or delay healing.
• Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to aid tissue recovery.

Day 2 – First Wash

The first wash begins with a special video guide we send digitally. This walk-through shows how to gently apply medical foam and shampoo to the transplant area. From Day 2 to Day 6, continue washing daily with the same method.

Day 7 – Scab Removal (Final Wash)

On the seventh day, we send a second instructional video to guide you through scab removal. By now, all crusts and scabs should naturally detach with a gentle wash.
After this step, your scalp should look clean, and you may return to your normal routine.

Ergonomic Advice

We remind patients to avoid activities that cause neck strain:
• Don’t bend forward while using phones or laptops.
• Keep all screens at eye level.
• Avoid physical exertion or sweating until scabs are gone.
